You know what i’m sick of?
I’m sick of being lumped in with those who don’t like Icy and being called “jealous” because I think publishing fanfic is wrong. There’s a HUGE other side of this that you’re missing. There are many people, myself included, who cannot condone the publishing of fanfic for ANY reason. I don’t care if its the most popular fic on the planet, you SHOULDN’T publish fic. I don’t care if the author is the nicest, sweetest, most amazing person on the face of the planet, you shouldn’t publish fic. Legally, there is clearly a quagmire here. But ethically, it is wrong. I’d be happy for Icy or any other former fan fic author who decided to go the original route, but I refuse to buy former fanfic or cheer on those who are profiting from the fandom. Not now. Not ever. Let the unfollows begin.
